Rachel is one of Motor Milestones’ most seasoned veterans, having worked as an occupational therapist (OT) for Motor Milestones since 2016! She moved here to Colorado from her hometown of Lexington, KY, perhaps for the sunshine and blue skies, which she says are her favorite things about Colorado.
Rachel was drawn to OT because she knew she wanted to work with kids. While she originally thought she would become a special educator, she observed an occupational therapist in the schools and knew that she was meant to be an OT!
Rachel shared that early intervention has taken over her heart and her job at Motor Milestones has been her dream. Her favorite part of being an OT is working with families and children in their natural environments doing all their daily routines as they reach new milestones.
She wishes that more families knew the value in outside playtime no matter the weather because it is good for both parents and children. The fresh air alone can do wonderful things for our mind and bodies, and the gross motor and sensory play in the outside world are big bonuses for our kids!
Aside from her work, Rachel says that being a mom is her favorite job title, followed closely by being a dog mom to her golden retriever, Molly.
We are so grateful for Rachel’s talent as an OT and the joy she brings to our team!
