Rachel grew up in New York but has lived in Colorado for more than 10 years. She loves Colorado because of all the sunshine.

Rachel has been working with Motor Milestones as an early childhood special educator for nearly 8 years! She wanted to do this work because she has always been drawn to children who didn’t fit the generic mold and she loves getting to know the motivations and preferences of each individual child and coming up with different activities for each. Rachel believes it’s an honor being invited into a family’s home and getting to know their unique family structure, culture and needs.

Rachel knows that families can sometimes be hesitant to get their child evaluated because they don’t want them to be different than other children or they are worried it means they have done something wrong to “cause” this delay. She wants every family to know that they are not alone, delays in children can just happen and it doesn’t change who their child is.

Rachel says her favorite part about working at Motor Milestones is that our team is supportive and encouraging, and she loves problem solving different strategies with the expertise from a variety of different specialists.

Outside of work you can find Rachel reading or spending time with her husband and two children.
