Lexi Milan wears black ski pants and a blue t-shirt with a black ski jacket tied around her waist. She wears a black hat and sunglasses and is standing on skiis on a snowy mountain with a sunny background.

Lexi is a Certified Fellow in Speech Language Pathology, and this is her first year working as a Speech Language Pathologist (SLP). Lexi says she has already learned so much and is eager to further her practice with Motor Milestones.

Her favorite part of working in early intervention is connecting with families and helping them solve any difficulties, big or small! Specifically, she loves working with families to address difficult times of day to help their routines run as smoothly as possible. But she wishes that more families knew that early intervention (EI) is so much more than addressing potential delays – we are here to support the entire family in any way that we can.

Lexi grew up in Golden, Colorado and has always known she would end up back here working with her own community, even as she traveled away for graduate school in California.

Her favorite thing about Colorado is that we have access to so many outdoor activities. During the summers of her undergraduate and graduate degrees, Lexi spent time working at an outdoor camp helping kids learn to bike, whitewater kayak, rock climb, paddleboard, and hike.

Lexi is no stranger to these activities herself, so you can find her paddleboarding and hiking in the summer and skiing in the winter. She said she was on a pair of skis before she could walk, and skiing has been a lifelong passion. Check out this photo of her on the slopes!

With just a few months working with our team, Lexi shared that working at Motor Milestones has given her the unique opportunity to collaborate with other professionals in the field. She says that “anyone who works in early intervention knows it can get lonely working by yourself, but I am so lucky to have a team to help me problem-solve and bounce off ideas.”
